Gemma's Waltz
Choreographed. Jean & John Miles (With the help of their granddaughter Gemma)
Description: Couples Dance (Closed Western Position)Both partners will be on opposite feet throughout the dance.
Music: Slow to Medium Waltz Time

Pattern One: Men Facing Line of Dance/ Lady's Reverse
1 to 6 Basic 1-2-3 4-5-6 Emphasis No 1 and No 4 (Long Steps)
   
Pattern Two: Lady's Turn on 1-2-3 4-5-6
1 to 6 Men keep basic pattern - Drop right hand and turn Lady. Ladies turn to their Right,
double turn on 1-2-3 4-5-6
   
Pattern Three: Men Facing Line of Dance/Ladies Reverse
1 to 6 Basic 1-2-3 4-5-6
   
Pattern Four: Outside Wave - Inside Wave (Out 2-3 / ln 5-6)
1 to 3 Men drop right hand, leading lady into a wave by bringing adjoining hands between you and your partner on No. 1 step outside wave: With No. 1 foot, both step to the outside line of dance (Men step right / Ladies left). Pivot 2-3 to face inside line of dance (drop adjoining hands rejoin opposite hands).
4 to 6 Inside wave: with No. 4 foot, both step to the inside line of dance (Men step to their left / Ladies to their right). Again bring hands through for styling. Pivot on 5-6 to face out side line of dance (drop adjoining hand and rejoin opposite hands).
   
Pattern Five: Outside Wave & Ladies Turn (Out 2-3 / turn 4-5)
1 to 3 Outside wave with No.1 foot, both step to the outside line of dance (Men step to their right / Ladies step to their left). Pivot on 2-3 to face inside line of dance.
4 to 6 Men turn Ladies and join both hands in front of Lady. Ladies turn to right, a full turn, to face partner and join hands in front.
   
Pattern Six: Extend and wrap (Extend 2-3/Wrap 5-6)
1 to 3 Men step in place on 1-2-3 extending arms in front. Ladies step back on No. 1 extending arms and 2-3 in place.
4 to 6 Men step in place on 4-6 to wrap Lady (lift left hand over Lady's head as she wraps herself into your arms). He back will be resting on your right arm. Ladies step forward on No. 4 making a half turn to her left to wrap into Man's arms.
   
Pattern Seven: Wheel around (Wheel 2-3/4-5-6)
1 to 3 Men wheel the lady around by dancing on the spot and turning the lady by pushing her gently 4 to 6 with your Rt arm on a full turn forward from LOD back to face the line of dance
   
Pattern Eight: Ladies double turn (Ladies turn 2-3 / 4-5-6)
1 to 3 Men dance forward 1-2-3 lifting left hand to turn Lady out.
4 to 6 Ladies rum on 4-5-6 back to face her partner.
